Common questions

How loud is it?

Whisper-quiet — from 24 dB on low and under 35 dB on its normal night setting. Quiet enough to sleep beside, independently confirmed by HouseFresh.

What do replacement filters cost?

Activated-carbon replacement filters — £79 a pair in our shop, changed every 6–12 months (about £6.58–£13.16 a month). No locked-in proprietary cartridges.

How much does it cost to run?

Very little — Luggables draw 6–16 W, about £9–£25 a year running 16 h a day (UK price cap, Oct 2026).

What room size does it cover?

Clears a 30 m² room in about 15 minutes (Intertek-certified CADR). Ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, nurseries and home offices.

Does it remove viruses and allergens?

Yes — MERV-13 media captures fine particles down to 0.3 microns, comparable to HEPA, including pollen, dust, pet dander, mould spores, smoke and airborne viruses.

Not right for you? Send it back within 30 days.

Reserved for CleanAirKits unit owners

This price is for customers who have bought — or are buying — a complete Luggable unit from us. If you're buying filters on their own to build your own purifier, a small surcharge per pair applies, as our filter stock is reserved for our unit customers first. Please contact us before ordering if you're unsure.

Better together: complete air treatment, room by room

Your Luggable's MERV-13 stage catches the particles — dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke particulate. This activated-carbon pair covers what a particle filter can't: the smells and gases. Run both together in your Luggable Carbon and you've got full-spectrum coverage for the whole house.

Kill the smells — not just the particles.

A pair of replacement activated-carbon filters for the Luggable Carbon (4-Fan)'s odour-control stage — adsorbing cooking smells, smoke and everyday VOCs at the source, not masking them.

Add a pair above — keep the odours handled.

What you get

  • Fits the Luggable Carbon (4-Fan) — one pair covers both carbon filter slots
  • Adsorbs cooking odours, smoke and VOCs — removes, not masks
  • Pairs with your MERV-13 stage for full-spectrum coverage: particles and odours
  • UK stock · fast UK & Europe delivery. Sold in pairs — minimum order 1 pair (2 filters)

Tip: replace roughly every 3–6 months depending on use and odour load.

Indoor air can be up to 5× more polluted than outside — traffic particles, pollen, dust and smoke build up where you sleep. The Luggable clears a room in minutes, then runs all night at a whisper.

Independent Reviews

Summary of independent reviews: independent testers and owners consistently describe Clean Air Kits purifiers as effective and exceptionally quiet for their high performance.

About this model: the independent lab tests below were run on the Luggable XL (7-Fan). This model shares the same 3M MERV-13 filtration and the same silent pressure-fan design — sized for its own room class.

Independent test highlights — Luggable range (HouseFresh tested the XL 7-Fan)

  • Performance: Independent tests show it cleans the air in a medium-to-large room (around 45 m²) as effectively and quickly as popular, more expensive retail air purifiers like the Winix 5500-2 or Levoit Vital 200S
  • Noise Level: The most praised feature — reportedly one of the quietest high-performance air purifiers tested (around 38.8 dBA), often described as a whisper or easily ignorable background hum
  • Energy Efficiency: Uses very little power (around 10.5 watts), giving low running costs — about £21 a year (XL, 16 h/day, ENERGY STAR test)
  • Build/Value: Simple build with long-term savings from generic, efficient and affordable HVAC filters (like 3M Filtrete) instead of proprietary ones
  • Filter Type: This Carbon model pairs MERV-13 particle filtration with an activated-carbon stage, so it also tackles odours and VOCs — not just particles.
